Junjou Romantica is a BL (boy love/yaoi) series by Shungiku Nakamura. The manga runs under Asuka CIEL since 2002. There are currently 11 volumes and still ongoing. The manga has expanded into several cd-dramas, a light novel series, as well as a 24 episode anime series. The first season aired in Japan in April 10, 2008 containing 12 episodes and the second season is currently on air since October 2008.
Junjou Romantica focuses on not one but three couples that have an uncanny association with each other. Despite the series having the name “Romantica” – one of the couples in the series, each couple is labeled through their respective "sub" title: Romantica (Takahashi Misaki & Usami Akihiko), Egoist (Kamijou Hiroki & Kusama Nowaki), and Terrorist (Miyagi Yo & Takatsuki Shinobu).
